European e-commerce boom attracts Bronto

Bronto softwareUS firm Bronto software is taking up offices in London to take advantage of Europe’s online sales and ecommerce opportunities which are growing at an “incredible pace”.

The company, which provides marketing software platforms for e-retailers, says the opening of its first international office is an important step for its growth in Europe.

The company chose the UK as its base partly because of its lead over other European nations in the online sales and ecommerce arena.

Bronto points to research from the Interactive Media in Retail Group (IMRG) which shows that UK online sales are growing at 16% each year and are expected to have reached £68.2bn in 2011.

“The new office in London provides a central location for us to sell to and service European retailers.”

The North Carolina-based company has grown rapidly over the past year with revenues increasing by 54% and its headcount up by 40%.

The business expects to add as many as 40 employees to its payroll this year, although it is not stated how many of these will be in London.
