Everyone likes a fast service when buying goods online, so we speak to Shutl about how it could help your business speed up delivery times.
Please tell me about your business
A branded web-service offered within a retailer’s website, Shutl allows shoppers to have their goods delivered within as little as 90 minutes of purchase, or within a one-hour window of their choice, available same day or any day.
The service operates 24hrs a day, 365 days a year and allows customers to watch their deliveries “shutling” towards them in real time on a GPS enabled map.
Who is the product aimed at?
Our platform has been specifically designed with the retailer in mind, enabling them to use delivery as a tool to cross-sell, up-sell and significantly increase online conversion, order value and customer loyalty via a simple user interface.
What are the benefits of using it to an eCommerce businesses?
Shutl minimises the cost of failed deliveries by enabling the shopper to select the exact time window for their delivery. Along with the real-time tracking (allowing customers to see exactly where the courier is in relation to their delivery address), shoppers can now make sure that they are available to take receipt of their items.
The customer support that Shutl provides around the service is critical to its success and a key point of differentiation from traditional carriers. Delivery has been shown to be the single greatest reason why shoppers won’t complete a purchase from an online retailer.
By providing an exceptional customer experience, Shutl transforms delivery from being a traditionally weak point in a retailer’s service offering into a key part of their consumer proposition and strategy for driving new customer acquisition and loyalty.
How much does it cost?
Shutl charges retailers a nominal one-off “set-up fee” for provision of the service, and then takes a commission on each successful transaction, which is included in the delivery price.
How does it work?
Our platform aggregates capacity across a network of local same day courier companies, drawing upon a combined fleet totalling thousands of vehicles. As well as providing quicker and more convenient delivery, these courier companies can also be more cost effective over short distances.
Shutl’s technology matches individual deliveries in real-time to the optimum courier company according to who is best suited to that specific job – weighing performance history, price and customer feedback.
Take me step-by-step through how I buy and install it
The process is very straightforward and simple. Retailers interested in offering the service must contact Shutl and sign up to our terms and conditions, at which point we will create an account for them. Once we have evaluated how, and across which channels they want to offer the service, the next step is to integrate the Shutl API with their website.
For retailers using the Magento ecommerce platform, there is also an extension available that will reduce the cost and time of integration.
What do I need to do once it is set up?
Simply push the service live, start telling your customers about it and watch the orders roll in.
