eCommera launches app for mobile traders

eCommera has launched a mobile application for retailers hoping to catch customers on the move via their handsets and tablets.

The Mobile App Service is described by the company as an “out-of-the-box solution” that works across all of the major devices and operating systems, including Apple iOS and Android.

The new app, the latest in the TradingEdge family, will provide retailers with the ability to serve the majority ofcustomers for their products and brand regardless of platform, the company says.

The new service is available via subscription and will appeal to retailers, as there are no major upfront investments required to get the software up and running, eCommera says.

Updates will occur automatically, and as well as enabling customers to buy via mobile, the new service has features such as a store locator, in-store stock availability updates, barcode scanning and social media functions.

“The explosion in mobile and tablet use has signalled a power shift in retail to the customer who expects to be able to buy wherever and however they like,” said Andrew McGregor, CEO of eCommera.

“We’re making it easier for retailers and brand owners to make a direct connection with their customers, to provide an intimacy that will be critical to their success in a competitive market.”
