There are many platforms available for online retailers. Here we speak to Cybertill and find out what it can do for eCommerce businesses both large and small
Please tell me about your business
Cybertill was founded in 2001 and was the world’s first web based multi-channel retail system. It incorporates EPoS, ecommerce and mail order. It offers retailers key advantages such as real time visibility of stock levels across all sales channels, centralised CRM system that all sales channels share, remote access and much more. Cybertill has over 600 customers and is used across over 4,000 locations and manages over 250 websites.
Who is the product aimed at?
Cybertill is aimed at a wide range of non-food retailers of all sizes. We have single independent stores which use the Cybertill system as well as large national chains. Cybertill is primarily aimed at retailers with a presence on the high street and online, helping them manage their business across all their sales channels.
What are the benefits of using it to an eCommerce business?
Cybertill’s ecommerce platform comes with the latest tools to ensure retailers can stand out from their competition, from search engine optimisation to social media integration. And by attracting higher levels of traffic to their websites the sites themselves are easy to use and consumer friendly so traffic converts to sales, with tools such as guest checkout, single page checkout facility and so forth.
But, perhaps most importantly Cybertill’s cloud-based ecommerce platform operates in real time and is securely hosted with service level agreements in place to at least meet 99.95% uptime. And because it is cloud-based it is scalable, so at peak trading times such as Christmas, when traffic volumes hit their peak, Cybertill can ensure enough capacity so websites function normally.
How much does it cost?
Cybertill’s ecommerce platform is available from as little as £30 a week.
How does it work?
Cybertill is web-based (also known as cloud-based). This means Cybertill’s platform hosts the retailer’s software and data within it. A key benefit of this means when the customer uploads their product data to Cybertill the same product file is available in real time across all their sales channels: store, online, mail order, warehouse etc. This allows our clients to view stock levels across all sales channels, share a central customer file allowing a greater continuity of service, as well click and collect and reserve and collect.
The system being web based also means Cybertill automatically run data back-ups as well software upgrades for the retailer allowing them to focus on managing their business and not their ecommerce and retail systems.
Take me step-by-step through how I buy and install it
A Cybertill retail consultant would meet with the retailer and run through demonstration of the system, answering any questions they may have. In addition, to that the consultant would ask the retailer a series of detailed questions on how they manage their business and the processes involved. When the retailer has agreed to deploy the Cybertill system they then will talk through their requirements with the Cybertill design and ecommerce team. Once the design and functionality have been agreed the Cybertill projects team then manage the process of setting the website live. The retailer is then allocated an account manager who liaises with the customer helping them optimise the usage of the ecommerce system.
What do I need to do once it is set up?
Once it is set up the retailers account manager works with the customer helping them get the most from the Cybertill system. There are also additional consultancy services offered, such as Search Engine Optimisation and Google AdWords management.
Is there anything else I should know?
Cybertill is web-based; this means customers can access it from any location. So retailers can manage their business no matter where they are: on holiday, visiting trade shows, on buying trips and so forth; so all business information is to hand at any one time. For example when a retailer buys a new line of products in Cybertill they can put it live on their website there and then, so there is immediacy to everything allowing retailers to promote products at a click of button.
No technical expertise is required, as it can be managed all from a simple content management system in the back office. Cybertill offers a wide variety of payment options including leasing.
