After leaving University, James Worked for Goldman Sachs for 5 years, before moving up to Newcastle and joining Sage group as a Business Development Analyst.
The role involved working with various Sage operating companies on strategic initiatives, analysing the competitive environment and evaluating potential acquisitions.
James became particularly interested in the payments industry following some specific work involving Sage’s US based payments business.
James soon took a role as Integration manager at Sage Pay and then quickly moved into a role as Head of Commercial Development and Strategy, where he led initiatives with Elavon for Merchant Services and the acquisition of Integral Computers.
James’ current as role as Head of International Business Development is focused on developing Sage Pay’s business outside of the UK and Ireland and building Sage Pay into a market leading pan-European PSP.
