Please tell me about your business

TranslateMedia is a global translation agency that works with retailers to help them develop relevant and localised ecommerce sites for new markets. It works in more than 90 languages and has a network of over 6,000 in-country language experts to provide services including trans-creation (the art of conveying the sense of the original, taking into account cultural references, languages nuances, and audio/visual references, rather than relying on a direct translation).

TranslateMedia is a Deloitte Fast 500 company and works for some of the biggest brands, retailers, and creative, marketing and media companies in the world, including Ford, BT, Google, AmEx, BA, Argos and Visa.

Who is the product aimed at?

Ecommerce businesses and brands who want to export, or promote themselves in foreign markets.

What are the benefits of using it to an eCommerce business?

It lets an eCommerce business create an authentic, localised presence in another market. TranslateMedia advises on the appropriateness not just of language, but of cultural references, images and message, so the eCommerce site has local appeal. This approach prevents the kind of ‘lost in translation’ errors that some major brands have suffered in the past.

How much does it cost?

Price is quoted per job. TranslateMedia is competitive on price and only charges for words translated. Its technology and project management costs are all included in the quoted translation fee, so it has no hidden charges and is completely transparent. It provides a competitive, high value, high quality service.

How does it work?

Translation projects are managed through STREAM, TranslateMedia’s proprietary technology, which provides a secure, cloud-based platform between the client company and the selected translator. A translation team is built for each client at the beginning of the client relationship. All translators are mother-tongue speakers and professional linguists.

Take me step-by-step through how I buy and install it

When the client feeds a job into STREAM, the appropriate translator/s are selected and notified of the job. They complete the work on STREAM, which keeps tight checks on version control and security. Each job goes through edits, revisions, reviews, quality assurance checks (including accuracy, tone and register, fluency, presentation and proofing) before it is signed off. All this happens on STREAM, so the client can see what stage the work is at throughout the process. When complete, it is returned to the client.

What do I need to do once it is set up?

Contact TranslateMedia either by phone 4840, email or via the website (or via STREAM once you’ve signed up as a client), each time you need translation services.
