How to use: WebSearchOne

WebSearchOne helps its customers gain more exposure through online search. We find out more about the Midlands-based company

Please tell me about your business

WebSearchOne is a search marketing agency based in Solihull with clients across the UK and abroad; we help our customers get more leads and sales from the web. We’re actually the search marketing arm of Vitis PR, a technology and B2B PR agency.

Having a strong link to public relations means that we can bring our PR know-how and contacts into the mix. Ultimately, this means our customers sell more. We work on search engine optimisation (SEO) and pay-per-click (PPC), but also know how the media work and can combine press coverage with SEO to give an extra boost our customers’ online profile.

Who is the product aimed at?

Almost anyone selling online or looking for leads from the web could benefit from what we do. We also work with a number of web design companies. They often know how to build great looking websites, but may lack the in-depth specialist skills and knowledge around SEO that we provide.

What are the benefits of using it to an eCommerce business?

More new sales, bigger sales from the existing customer base and increasing market share.

How much does it cost?

This varies depending upon the complexity and difficulty of the work. The key factors to consider are: how strong is the competition, what state is the current website in and how big is the website to be worked on. The work we’d do for a small site might start at a few hundred pounds, but it really is on a case-by-case basis.

How does it work?

We like to start by getting to know about your business, what you are trying to achieve and how we can measure whether those goals are being achieved by the website. Setting this up in the first instance helps us to track the success of the work we’re doing.

Having established the basic measures of success, we typically audit the website and carry out what we call ‘online first-aid’ – in effect, we diagnose the issues and correct any quick-to-fix or important problems straight away. Next, we prioritise the issues with the customer and work through them.

Some things are one-off items like correcting a technical issue on the site, but others may require ongoing work, such as tuning pages to maximise sales or building links to the site.

Take me step-by-step through how I buy and install it

Getting started is as simple as meeting with us and talking over your requirements, after that we just need access to your website and we can take it from there.

What do I need to do once it is set up?

How much you need to do depends upon how complex your business is and how much you want to be involved. From a management perspective we will certainly want to talk to you regularly to ensure that the results we are delivering are right for you. We also might ask you to review articles or content that we’ve written.

Is there anything else I should know?

Throughout the process, we’re very open and flexible in the way we work for our customers. Some want to understand the nuts and bolts of the technical issues, while others are just happy that it is being managed and that they can see the results.

We understand the online world from top to bottom: from technical detail about arcane topics, to how best to reach an influential online journalist, this means we can advise our customers on what will give them the most bang for their online buck.
